Reformed Church Home is Hiring a Central Supply Clerk Near Old Bridge, NJ

Reformed Church Home, A Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Facility located in Old Bridge New Jersey is actively seeking a Central Supply Clerk.

The Central Supply Clerk offers support to the administrative staff in meeting their responsibilities for the overall administration of the facility, and to oversee and maintain the mail/copy room and the issuance of all stationery supplies. This person will also maintain the inventory of Nursing supplies and purchase office supplies as needed. All responsibilities and duties will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of the Home.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of nursing products.
  • Knowledge of Group Purchasing Agreements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of copy/fax/mail machines.
  • General knowledge of medical terminology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Orders and distributes supplies, securing the best pricing and delivery time to meet our needs.
  • Negotiates pricing with vendor and makes contract suggestion.
  • Works with GPO (Group Purchasing Organizations) to ensure best pricing for supplies.
  • Keeps up to date inventory of supplies.
  • Keeps accurate record of supplies purchased and applies these charges to the proper departments.
  • Monitors the postage machine, (i.e. changing the date each morning and checking to see if we have the adequate amount of postage remaining in the machine).
  • Sorts and distributes resident and facility mail.
  • Prepares and mails medical items that are being returned due to the fact that they are defective or in need of repair.
  • Manages Mailroom as follows:
  • Stamps all outgoing mail, and delivers the mail to the reception desk for pick up.
  • Maintains an adequate amount of copy paper/supplies for the photocopy machine.
  • Calls copy machine repairman if the photocopy machine is in need of repairs that cannot be fixed in house.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming faxes.
  • Prepares the name label of new Assisted Living residents for their door, and then orders the proper nameplate.
  • Relieves Receptionist for breaks and lunch
  • Answers and screens all incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner. Route calls and takes messages as appropriate.
  • Follows facility’s policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills, and maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Maintains inventory of Nursing supplies and equipment.
  • Purchase supplies for Nursing as needed.
  • Stocks all cabinets with supplies for the nursing staff on the units as needed.
  • Keep track of nursing budget on a monthly basis.
  • Performs other duties not specifically mentioned above, as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Must possess a minimum of high school diploma or GED.

Experience/Qualifications: Previous Central Supply Experience required. Knowledge of computers. Good interpersonal relation skills. Ability to work independently, with little supervision.

Physical Requirements: Involves walking, standing, lifting, bending and some sitting.
